Final Exam Review
Can you believe you are just days away from finishing your first year of high school?
Exams are only a few days away - attached you will find a copy of the rough exam review. Begin studying from this - there will be a few minor changes we will discuss in class on Monday as your exam has now been finalized.
Here is a rough breakdown of what your exam looks like:
1. Application of literary devices. Our focus this semester was on two anchor texts, Romeo and Juliet, and, The Odyssey. There will be a few questions pertaining to the story line, but the overall majority of the exam is the ability to apply the terms covered throughout the semester to the text.
Several questions are based directly off the text so you will need to read a passage and answer a few questions.
Example: Upon being stabbed, Mercutio says, "Ask for me tomorrow and you shall find me a grave man." This is an example of a(n) _______________.
2. Plot Structure of Tragedy. You will need to know the events that take place throughout a tragedy along with elements from Romeo and Juliet that fit each one.
3. Written Portion. You will have a short written essay pertaining to a specific motif present within both of our anchor texts. You will NOT be confined to the 8 Step Format, but you will need to include: Topic Sentence, Examples, and Explanations.
Good luck studying!!!! If you need any help please see me before or during class, or send me an email! [email protected]
